Jo Webster RVN
Jo began her career with Stowe Veterinary Group in July 1989 as a junior trainee nurse. Having a love of animals from a very young age, this was her ideal job! Jo went on to formalise her training and enrolled on the veterinary nurse training course at Milton College of Agriculture from 1991-93. By the time she qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1996, she had already progressed to the role of head nurse, responsible for a team of 20 nursing staff.
In 2002, Jo achieved head of nursing status where she became responsible for veterinary nursing over all Veterinary Centres. Jo has a real passion for nursing, especially the practical side and soon became involved with the associated training and development of the skills of their student nurses. Jo has more recently undertaken OSCE examining of student veterinary nurses and enjoys her additional responsibilities as a clinical coach.
Jo’s spare time is spent with her husband and two daughters, tending to their numerous pets, which include ponies, dogs, cats, goats, turkeys, sheep and lots of chickens. Jo’s other interests include horse-riding, walking and shopping!
Jenny Mullins RVN
Jenny joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 1998 as a trainee veterinary nurse. She qualified as a fully-fledged veterinary nurse in 2003.
In 2009 Jenny moved to Moreton Hall Veterinary Centre where she is now deputy head nurse.
Jenny’s own pets include tropical fish and budgies.
Beckie Mills RVN
Beckie joined Moreton Hall Veterinary Centre in the spring of 2008, after the birth of her daughter. An outdoor person at heart, Beckie keeps chickens, a cat and four Labrador retrievers that she bred herself. She enjoys showing and working Labradors and has a special interest in responsible breeding and puppy development.
Mary-Ellen Stephenson RVN
Mary-Ellen joined the practice straight from school in 1981 as a trainee veterinary nurse and is now one of the group’s head nurses. Her dedication to animals is exemplary and her experience, patience and mentoring skills have been invaluable to student vets and nurses alike.
Mary-Ellen is a cocker spaniel enthusiast and has raised several working litters over the years. At home her menagerie of pets includes dogs, cats and rare breeds of chickens.
Needless to say, Mary-Ellen loves all aspects of her work as a veterinary nurse, a career which has now spanned over 34 years.
Tanya Mason RVN
Tanya began her nursing training at Stowe Veterinary Group in 1994 and graduated as a registered veterinary nurse, in 1997. Tanya enjoys all aspects of her nursing role and takes great pride in being part of a successful nursing team. Since 1999, Tanya has been involved in nurse training and qualified as an assessor, so that she could mentor and coach the students on vocational and university courses. She is now one of the group’s head nurses and a lead clinical coach.
Tanya is married to a veterinary surgeon and they have two small children, which keeps her very busy! In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, running and tending to their cottage garden. Tanya loves cats and has two of her own, a Bengal (called Oreo) and an Egyptian Mau (called Myrtle).
Abi Massey RVN
Abi qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998 and has been part of the nursing team at Moreton Hall Veterinary Centre since 2004. Abi’s interest in veterinary nursing care and companion animal behaviour, as well as a great aptitude for coaching, has been a great help to the group.
Viki Gould CAN
After gaining an honours degree in photographic and visual studies, Viki decided on a change of career and joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 2010 as a student veterinary nurse. Viki achieved her Certificate in Animal Nursing in 2013 and is now working towards her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
Viki’s cocker spaniel, Roo, is a delightful pet and keeps her very busy.
Emily Licence CAN RVN
Emily lives in the countryside with her partner and two house cats, Lynx and Rio. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing especially nurse clinics, client education and kennel nursing. Having completed her practical training with us, Emily qualified as a veterinary nurse in October 2016.
Outside of work Emily enjoys cycling and countryside walks.
Jessica Coles RVN
Jessica started working for the practice in January 2015, she has enjoyed working in veterinary practice for over 5 years. Jessica has always loved animals and has many pets including a lovely Labrador called Willow and a crazy cat called Daisy, she also has a variety of exotic animals, chickens, guinea pigs and tortoises.
Tina Markwell DipVN
Tina first worked at the practice in 1985, having decided from a very young age that she wanted to work with animals. After taking a career break to bring up her children, Tina enrolled on the Central College of Animal Studies’ veterinary nursing course. As an experienced animal nurse Tina sets high standards of nursing care for the team.
At home Tina looks after two horses and her several cats.
Karen Saddleton RVN REVN
Karen’s nursing career began over 20 years ago in a large mixed practice where she gained both small animal and equine veterinary nurse qualifications. Karen joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 2003 and continues to utilise her extensive nursing experience by playing an active role in student nurse training and professional development.
Her family pets include freshwater fish and pet chickens.
Allison Jaynes RVN
Allison has worked at Stowe Veterinary Group for over 15 years, beginning her career as an animal care advisor at our Needham Market surgery in 1999. From there she moved to the Stowmarket practice to undertake her veterinary nurse training and was awarded a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 2005.
Allison lives locally with her husband and two daughters, who manage to keep her very busy when she is not at work. Allison enjoys walking and recently completed the London Moonwalk to raise money for breast cancer research after losing a friend to the disease. Her family share their home with Lilly the lurcher, Daisy a rescue cat, two mice called Nibbles and Cheddar and a couple of chickens.
Hannah Clark CAN
Hannah joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 2007 as a trainee nursing assistant and progressed on to become a Certified Animal Nurse. Hannah finds the animal care side of her role most enjoyable and draws on her wealth of experience to visit primary schools to promote animal care and welfare to the children as part of their science studies.
Hannah is a frequent assistant at our puppy classes.
Rachel Lerpiniere CAN DipVN RVN
Rachel has been a keen member of the veterinary nursing team since 2009 and has achieved the Certificate in Animal Nursing and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Rachel enjoys all aspects of her job but is particularly interested in nursing hospitalised patients.
A devoted lover of animals, Rachel has two dogs and cat at home.
Lily MacLean CAN DipVN RVN
Lily began her nursing career in 2009. She has since then completed the Certificate in Animal Nursing and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and graduated in 2015. Lily loves everything about her career as a veterinary nurse, particularly helping the vets with the operations and being able to care for a wide range of different animals.
Outside of work, Lily enjoys riding her horse and caring for her six whippets.
Leanne Evans CAN DipVN RVN
Leanne joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 2005 after previously studying countryside conservation and animal management. She continued to study veterinary nursing and achieved her Certificate in Animal Nursing and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Leanne still has a keen interest in wildlife nursing and rehabilitation. She is passionate about nursing intensive care patients and running puppy classes.
In her spare time, she enjoys country pursuits, horse-riding, cooking and socialising.
Laura Newton CAN
Laura gained her Certificate in Animal Nursing in 2014 and is currently working towards her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.
With a keen interest in wildlife, animal welfare and conservation projects, Laura enjoys the countryside as well as looking after her many cats.
Jessica Cheesmur CAN BSc
Jessica graduated in 2010 with a BSc(Hons) in Animal Management. During her studies she worked with a varied range of large animals and, before joining Stowe Veterinary Group in 2011, she worked on an Alpaca farm, where she still helps out during shearing season.
Jessica has a love of all things rabbit related and also has a keen interest in animal welfare. Jessica also enjoys walking and nature and spending time with family and friends (which of course includes her rabbits).
Amy Harding RVN
Amy qualified in May 2016 from Nottingham Trent University. She has a love of cats and has her own ‘tabby tiger’. Veterinary nursing has been her dream job for years and now she is in practice she loves every minute of the day.
Abigail Page RVN
Abigail studied at Harper Adams University for four years to gain a degree in veterinary nursing and practice management and went on to join Stowe Veterinary Group when she qualified in July 2016. Abigail spends time at both the Ipswich and Stowmarket centres, where she enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing with a variety of species. Outside of work, she enjoys horse-riding and competing with her horse, walking her border collie Alfie and caring for her rescue cat, Josie.
