Rob Davis VetMB BA MRCVS

Rob joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 1997 following his graduation from Cambridge University. He gained two years’ experience working in our mixed practice, before relocating to Cambridge, where he concentrated on small animal work and the university’s teaching practice. In 2005, Rob re-joined the veterinary team and now enjoys the variety of small animal medicine and surgery. Rob has a particular interest in small animal dentistry and oral surgery. Outside of work Rob has four children and a smallholding with too many animals to count, including dogs, a cat, a sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks.

Shanley Barber DVM MRCVS

Shanley graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 1999. She worked in Cambridge before her two children were born and in 2007 joined Stowe Veterinary Group. Shanley has two Singaporean cats that were rescued by the Singaporean SPCA and one border terrier. She enjoys being outdoors as much as possible.

Paul Canham BVSc MRCVS

Paul joined Stowe Veterinary Group in 1995, upon graduation from Bristol University. Initially developing skills and experience in all animal species, Paul decided to concentrate his interests in small animal medicine. Paul has a special interest in small animal medicine and dermatology and is a member of the British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group. Paul is married to a veterinary surgeon and they have two sons. Their family of pets includes two border terriers (mother and daughter), a cat and some very spoiled pet chickens. Outside of work, Paul and his wife have both been competitive runners. Paul has completed a number of marathons, including the London Marathon in aid of Dreams Come True. The family enjoys exploring new places in their caravan and are particularly fond of the North Norfolk coast.

Martin Barrow BVM&S MRCVS

Martin is experienced in the husbandry and veterinary care of a wide variety of species and shares his home with a menagerie of animals (most of whom have been rescued) that includes cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, chickens, geese, tortoises, fish, parrots and other feathered friends. He has a keen interest in evidence based medicine, veterinary and veterinary nurse education, as well as information technology and staff development. Outside of work, Martin’s hobbies include keeping fit, sailing, skiing and, in particular, travelling to explore new places, both in Europe and further afield.

Tom Webster BVetMed Cert SAS MRCVS

Tom spent five years as a student with Stowe Veterinary Group and qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1994. Initially working with all species of farm, equine and small animals, Tom subsequently specialised in small animals. Tom has a particular interest in small animal surgery and achieved the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (CertSAS) in 2006. The majority of Tom’s time is now spent in theatre, where his interests include the treatment of cruciate disease, fractures, total hip replacement and minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as arthroscopy and laparoscopy. Tom has undergone extensive training in these techniques in Europe and the USA. In 2015, Tom was recognised as an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. Tom is married to Jo, a veterinary nurse, and they have two daughters. Between them, they share their spare time with numerous pets that include cats, dogs, ponies, goats and a variety of feathered friends.

Peter Mason BVet Med MRCVS

Pete first saw practice with Stowe Veterinary Group at the young age of 14, and later went on to study at the Royal Veterinary College in London. He returned frequently throughout his student years and joined the veterinary team after qualifying in 1999. Pete spent the first few years of his career developing his experience in a variety of animal species, large and small. In 2004 Pete joined the practice partnership and concentrated his interests in horses and farm work. With a particular interest in equine medicine, surgery and dentistry, Pete leads the team of equine veterinary surgeons. In his spare time, Pete enjoys providing veterinary cover at local county shows and other equine events. Pete is married to a veterinary nurse and they have two children. Their pets include two very spoiled felines.

Roger Harvey BVetMed CertPM MRCVS

Roger graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1979 and joined the practice soon afterwards. With an extensive wealth of experience and expertise in both small and large animals, Roger is closely involved in the mentoring and postgraduate development of interns and resident veterinary surgeons. Roger holds the RCVS Certificate in Pig Medicine and is a past president of the Pig Veterinary Society. His work as a veterinary surgeon has taken him to all parts of the UK, the EU, Eastern Europe, Australia and Asia. Outside of work, Roger is a keen cyclist and in 2014, completed a 1,000 mile charity bike ride in aid of two hospital charities. Roger also enjoys sailing and regularly races his classic keelboat on the local estuaries. He shares his home with his partner, Karen and several very spoiled cats, along with some garden hens.

Jessica Farmer BVSc MRCVS

Jessica graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005. Since graduation, she has been working in small animal practice; initially in Essex and then in Surrey. Jessica joined the veterinary team when she moved to Suffolk in 2012. Jessica enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and the variety that it brings and is particularly interested in dermatology. Jessica has a handsome tabby cat who enjoys life in Suffolk.

Alice Larwood VetMB MRCVS

Alice qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2009 and worked as a mixed animal vet in Staffordshire and Norfolk. She moved to Stowe Veterinary Group in 2014 to concentrate on small animal work and enjoys the challenges of all aspects of small animal practice. Alice lives on a dairy farm in Norfolk and outside of work enjoys walking with her Patterdale terrier and horse riding at her family’s farm in Kent.

Claire Welch BVM&S MRCVS

Claire graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2011. Since then she has been working in small animal practice and joined Stowe Veterinary Group in September 2014. Claire enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but has a particular interest in exotic animals. Claire and her husband Wayne have a young daughter and an “extended family” that includes her Hungarian viszla dogs Elsa and Theo, and guinea pigs, Bertie, Ernie and Sugar.

Christopher Burton BVM BVS MRCVS

Chris went to school locally and after his A levels studied Economics at the University of Sheffield and then worked at Deloitte and Touche. He decided to follow his passion and studied veterinary medicine at Nottingham Veterinary School; being one of the first to graduate from its six-year course. Chris has an interest in all aspects of the practice, from farm work to small animals, both medicine and surgery. He also has an active role in the equine side of the practice. Chris enjoys travelling and has been as far afield as New Zealand and Australia. In his spare time, Chris enjoys riding his motorbike and sailing on the River Orwell.

Ben Clamp BVetMed MRCVS

Ben graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and began work at a busy five branch mixed practice, prior to joining Stowe Veterinary Group in 2015. Ben enjoys all aspects of his work and has found small animal work to be the most stimulating and interesting. Ben is particularly interested in surgery and is experienced in treating birds and reptiles, having previously worked closely with Newquay Zoo and a large exotic animal base. Ben is eager to continue learning and consolidating his knowledge and enjoys building professional relationships with his clients. He is now an integral member of our veterinary team.
